Homages Flow for Rob and Michele Reiner as Autopsy Reports Remain Under Wraps.

Well beyond 14 days subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of celebrated filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones are still paying respects to the pair.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he just recently felt ready to share openly about his personal sorrow.

"Enough time has passed that I can at last express my sorrow into words," posted Elwes, saying that his first meeting with Reiner made him fall in love. "When we commenced passing more hours together I knew this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor uploaded archival material from the production, adding that he cannot recall "any day without mirth".

"This story is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Values that Rob cherished deeply. Which is among the many reasons he was the best person to direct it," Elwes wrote.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, stating: "To say that they were a incredible duo would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I recall you." He finished with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Fellow Artist

In a different piece, legendary director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was very funny and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the protagonist.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked wonderfully with everyone, and he understood the human predicament of his character," Scorsese added.

Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Restricted

Recently, a Los Angeles superior court judge decided to bar the disclosure of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, at the request from the LAPD.

A legal directive placed a security hold on the cases to prohibit the public release of "any investigative information, documents, files or images" connected to the active case.

The Medical Examiner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the consequence of homicide, with a public database noting the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Fallout and Commentary

Following the tragedy, public figures shared different reactions.

Ex-President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, offering divisive statements that were met with immediate backlash by many commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his criticism to the those speaking out last week. Conversing on his program, Rogan described the statements as "disappointing" and implied they demonstrated a concerning lack of empathy.

Rogan finished by proposing that an aide could have intervened when the decision to weigh in on the tragedy was made.
